A city in the sun…
A castle atop a green hill rolling and I see below what I must look like from above. I was down there just a second ago. Or two, it was a bit of a hike. And now I’m out of breath because I raced to the top.
The castle walls where people climb to catch sunsets, painting the decaying flower and the fresh one beside it gold. The dusty red bicycle and the rocking chair pushed by little slippers; gold. The door in the wall down a dim-lit street and the sharp regal gate closed; gold. All gold just the same.
We sit and smile together with shadows that blend into the fading light.
